Light it up!

Isaiah 9:2 ESV
“the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light”
Over the last few months we’ve loved diving into the Beatitudes, where Jesus shared one of his greatest sermons.

As we have preached through the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, we’ve discovered Jesus’ blueprint of how we are called to let his light of hope SHINE through each of us.

Matthew 5:14-16 ESV - “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory
to your Father who is in heaven.”

This year’s BTR image of a lighthouse is inspired by Jesus’ metaphor “you are the light of the world”. At the launch of C3 Invercargill it was prophesied that the church would be like a lighthouse, creating a great light shining through the darkness and storms of life. Bringing people to a place of safe harbour, to find refuge, rest, replenishment, and restoration.

Giving to Build To Reach helps our church and its outreach ministries shine brighter. Each one of us, as we give reflect the incredible Light of Jesus to those looking for a spiritual home.

Our heart is for Jesus to be shining brightly out from this ‘lighthouse’ and each one of us are like the prisms surrounding Him, the Light of Life, and our role is to reflect and shine Jesus to our city.

It’s our calling to give faithfully and generously. Why? Because there are souls onboard ships enduring the storms of life that need the light of Christ shining brightly to make it home.

John 1:5 ESV - “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
This is your invitation to be involved in Build to Reach 2024, and to be part of shining the “great light
of Jesus” over this city & beyond.

As we “Light it Up”, let’s get ready to welcome people home.

Send out your light and your truth: Let them lead me, let them bring me to your holy hill and to your
dwelling!” Ps 43:3
