BUILD TO REACH

Our Build to Reach offering gives C3 Church Invercargill the ability to be established in the heart of the city as well as reach and build beyond ourselves.

This offering is above our weekly giving (tithing) and focuses on extending the Kingdom work of the Lord. It includes the support of church partnerships here and overseas and paying off the borrowed funds for our church building in Invercargill.

These ministries, and paying down of our building, are at the core of reaching our local and global community and leaving a permanent Christian heritage for future generations to reach people.

The following pages list all activities that Build to Reach funds, but as always, the greatest importance is the love that is expressed in your giving.

“For what counts is faith expressing itself through love” (Galatians 5:6) – It is the love of God that motivates us to give

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

1. Prayerfully consider the amount of giving that is appropriate for you.
This should be your first step in becoming involved in partnering with Build to Reach. Pray for both faith and wisdom in making your decision.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

2. Make your commitment to Build to Reach using the commitment card.
At our Vision Builders Dinner and throughout the year, you will have an opportunity to complete a commitment card.

3. Consider how you will fulfil your commitment over the next 12 months.
You will have several options available to you:

  • Make a regular weekly or monthly contribution. Regular giving can be easier to manage, is rewarding and quickly builds up over time.
  • Make a one-off gift.
  • Direct deposit. You can organise regular payments to be made via internet banking.

Paul suggested to the early church:

“….Each of you should put aside some amount of money in relation to what you have earned and save it for this offering. Don’t wait until I get there and try to do it all at once.” – 1 Corinthians 16:1-2

4. Regularly pray into your commitment.

Please continue to pray over your commitment, for the church and leaders.

NOT EQUAL GIVING BUT EQUAL SACRIFICE

Any offering of this magnitude will be sacrificial. We will have to rise to the challenge, yet that challenge will be different for each person. So, our theme is not equal giving, but equal sacrifice.

To sacrifice means – “to willingly give the best I have for a greater purpose.”

Whilst we cannot all give the same amount, we can all sacrifice. This way, everyone can have a part. For some, a sacrificial gift may be $500. For others, it could be $50,000 or more. God will impress a specific amount on your heart if you ask Him.

A sacrificial gift is one that requires you to:
– change your lifestyle
– re-arrange your priorities
– actually give up something

Your sacrificial gift, which is sown in faith, can only be determined by you and the Lord. I urge you to make your gift a matter of prayer, being confident that God will clearly direct you, enabling each to give as he purposed in His heart. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Our faith goals will come about as a result of our prayerful consideration of the question – What does God want me to do?

Our response to the challenge before us, must be made on the basis of Gods will for each individual or family.

To determine the rightness of your faith goal, ask yourself these three questions:
1. Was it born in prayer?
2. Is it truly sacrificial?
3. Does it involve faith?

Build to Reach requires a financial commitment separate and above what we already give in tithes and offerings. Through prayer and commitment, the offerings we give are important in the growth of the church in reaching and building people.

MAKING ROOM

“And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he (Jesus) was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.””

Mark 2:2-5 ESV

One of the significant things we love about this story of the paralytic coming to Jesus is the persistent, passionate & sacrificial act of the four. This team of four could have been a connect group or any group of people concerned for their friend, who being paralysed was unable to get to Jesus.

These four had Made Room in their hearts for their friend. Their hearts had come alive, fuelled by faith, if they could just get their friend to Jesus-anything could happen. They were so passionate about reaching Jesus, to be in His Presence that they were prepared to do whatever it took to get their paralysed friend to Him.

That meant pushing past people, problems, partitions, walls, barriers, mindsets and even Making Room in the roof of a house in order for their friend to receive the forgiveness that only Jesus can give. Not only that but also his miraculous healing.

These four did something completely sacrificial – they gave so that someone else could receive.

This years theme for Build to Reach is “Making Room.” We are blessed with an incredible building in the heart of the city, filled with the most generous, loving and beautiful people from around the planet.

Are we done? Have we finished? Certainly not! Its time for us to make room in our hearts, in this house & beyond for people to meet Jesus. Making Room for the generations, the new to our city and especially Making Room for those who for whatever reason find themselves paralysed and unable to find Jesus for themselves.

Thank you in advance for your faith filled generosity and being involved in this years Build to Reach.

Thank you for Making Room in your life for others.

Love & Blessings  –  David & Shiree Senior Ministers

“ —he said to the paralytic— “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!””

Mark 2:10-12 ESV

1. Prayerfully consider the amount that you will commit for the following 12 months.

This should be your first step in becoming involved in partnering with Build to Reach. Pray for both faith and wisdom in making your decision.

“Each of you should give what  you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,  for God loves a cheerful giver.”

$80 week = $346 month = $4,160 year
$300 week = $1,300 month = $15,000 year
$1,000 week = $4,332 month = $52,000 year

Paul suggested to the early church:

“… Each of you should put aside some amount of money in relation to what you have earned and save it for this offering. Don’t wait until I get there and try to do it all at once.”

1 Corinthians 16:1-2 (NLT)
